Simply in time for the vacations, tequila innovator Maestro Dobel Tequila has launched a limited-edition collection of Further Añejo tequilas in hand-painted bottles. The inaugural launch of what’s going to be an annual collection, this 12 months’s assortment is dubbed “Charrería” and is predicated on the intricate embroidery that adorns the standard fits worn by Mexican horse riders, or charros.
Just like the charros‘ signature costumes, every bottle has its personal character, with 5 colours and patterns to select from. All are hand-painted by Mexican artisans, honoring and training the identical method used to brighten Oaxacan alebrijes, the vividly coloured collectible figurines that depict fantastical creatures.
The “Charrería” assortment celebrates the proud legacy of the Mexican equestrian self-discipline. Since its inception within the sixteenth century, the game, the gown, and the related customs have all mixed right into a singular regional artwork kind. The charros‘ quest for perfection mirrors that of the Dobel Atelier’s grasp tequileros in producing a uniquely clean spirit that derives its distinctive taste profile from prolonged ageing in American and European oak barrels, imparting notes of agave, vanilla, toasted almonds, and spices.
This isn’t the primary time Maestro Dobel has delved into its Mexican heritage for creative endeavors. At Design Miami, which wrapped earlier this month, Maestro Dobel was the official tequila, and its “Artpothecary” set up, “The Mexican Golden Age”—impressed by path-breaking architect Ricardo Legorreta—was the right place to chill off after a day on the cubicles. The model hosted an analogous art-fair oasis at Frieze New York within the spring.
