Maple Leafs place defenceman Jake McCabe on injured reserve

Jake McCabe was positioned on injured reserve after leaving Sunday’s sport towards the Philadelphia Flyers with an upper-body damage, the staff introduced Monday.

McCabe was sluggish to stand up after his head crashed to the ice on the conclusion of a combat with Flyers heavyweight Garnet Hathaway.

The lean was a response to Hathaway crashing into Leafs goalie Dennis Hildeby simply seconds earlier.

McCabe beforehand missed 5 video games this season after he was hit on the aspect of the pinnacle by an errant shot.

The 31-year-old has one objective and 10 assists throughout 36 contests this season as he is performed on a shutdown pairing alongside Chris Tanev.

With McCabe sidelined, defenceman Marshall Rifai was recalled from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.

Toronto returns to the ice Tuesday for the again half of a home-and-home set towards the Flyers in Philadelphia.
